Interaction 1.0: what's in it and what isn't
Interaction 1.0 is the first Rookspire system. Here is exactly what it contains and where its edges are.
What's in it
- Look-at detection with a configurable reach, radius and rate.
- A contextual prompt: the key, the verb and the target's name, with the key read from your input mapping.
- Tap and timed-hold interactions, with a progress ring.
- Locked targets that show the reason.
- Single-use targets such as pickups and keys, consumed once.
- A demo map with a door, a locked chest, its key and herbs that must be held.
In numbers: 10 Blueprints, 2 widgets, 51 assets in all.
What isn't
- Multiplayer. Nothing is replicated.
- Gamepad glyphs. Keyboard and mouse only.
- Proximity or top-down detection, and priorities between overlapping targets.
What was tested
UE 5.3.2 and 5.8, on Windows. Versions between them are not tested yet and are not claimed.
See the Interaction System page for the quick start.
